About Me

I’m a writer and editor specializing in higher education, IP law, the human side of law, careers and networking, and fitness.

In short, I’m a Type-A person writing for and about other Type-A people. That means I value deadlines and clean copy, and have written for everyone from federal judges to time-crunched parents looking for at-home fitness apps.

Higher ed and legal content

I write content including blog posts, features, event coverage, bio pages and other web copy, case studies, and more for colleges and universities, legal tech companies, law firms, and associations. I also edit and write newsletters and annual reports to help schools communicate with alumni, students, and peer institutions.

Journalism

On the journalism side, I focus on careers and networking, workplace issues, and fitness for outlets including general interest, business, and lifestyle magazines and websites.

I love finding unexpected connections at the intersection of seemingly unrelated topics. For example, I once wrote about networking and making beer in a magazine for homebrewers.

At the intersection of writing and law

My interest in exploring the intersections between subjects began during my “Law of the Press” class while earning a journalism degree at the George Washington University. By that time, I was already hooked on all things media. The class sparked my interest in the interaction between journalism and law and led me to Fordham University School of Law, where I devoured every available class on media and intellectual property.

For 15 years, I worked as an attorney in trademarks and other intellectual property, helping clients from solopreneurs to international corporations develop and protect their brands. While I loved working with brands, my favorite part of the job was research and communication.

Writing tailored to your audience

With my branding background, I take extra care in writing accurate copy that reflects the core values and style of every client. I also understand the needs and challenges of sources and stakeholders like business school and law school alumni and law firm partners.

I’d appreciate the opportunity to help you connect with your audience.
