I’m the grandchild of two families of entrepreneurs. Some of my earliest memories are in my father’s small-town Main Street appliance store. So it’s no surprise that after helping businesses build their brands as a trademark lawyer for 15 years, I followed in my family’s footsteps to found a business. With my background, I’ve gotten an insider’s view of companies from mom-and-pop shops to international corporations.

I write about careers, career transition, networking, and workplace issues for news and trade publications. I’m frequently called upon to explain workplace-related legal concepts to general interest audiences. My writing takes creative approaches to both emerging and well-worn career issues for audiences such as students, white-collar professionals, and even homebrewing hobbyists.
